In 1996, James and Terry Barnes established a college textbook company. James, a graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas believed that he could provide better value to students by offering more used textbooks as an option. In April, 1996, he opened the Reddie or Not Bookstore as the off campus solution for the college textbook market. The first day was so slow that James took a table outside the store and set it up next to the street so he would have more visibility. That was just the beginning…
In 1997, Textbook Brokers was established as the alternative for textbook sales at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. That brand would become the name synonymous with affordable textbooks for the last two decades. We now service over 100 colleges and universities in 20 states and are growing each year. From those humble beginnings we have grown into the fourth largest college textbook company in the United States.
In the early 2000’s, we were one of the first college textbooks companies to create an online market for students. Throughout the years, we have been innovators in the college textbook market and that has led to our rapid growth. It is time to write the next chapter in our company history.
In 2011, we decided to rebrand our company. James and Terry formed BBA Corp. in 1996 when they opened our first college textbook store at Henderson State University. Now, we have chosen the name of BBA Solutions to represent all the services and products that our company provides to our customers. The new name simply reflects our established culture of solution minded management. We are ready to solve problems for you today and in the future.
